Valdres Sommersymfoni (Summer Symphony) has, since its beginning in 1994, slowly established itself as one of the most exciting classical music festivals in Norway. The festival features around 30 public concerts each year and retrieves soloists and chamber musicians from around the world. Musicians such as Truls Mørk and Maxim Rysanov, Stephen Kovacevich, Vilde Frang, Itamar Golan and Henning Kraggerud has recently visited the festival.
It's also the largest course in classical music for young musicians between 6 and 28 years in northern Europe. The festival and course take place in beautiful Valdres during the last week of June.

The concerts take place all around the beautiful Valdres region, with its center in Fagernes. The venues range from the outdoor amphitheater at the local museum to unique and intimate churches, chapels and art galleries around the region.
